The department

The IT Team is responsible for all aspects of IT across the business, covering User Support, Infrastucture, Network, Security, Data and Development teams.

Purpose of job
  • The Business Analyst Team Leader is responsible for Agile / Scrum project management and planning activities for Development projects.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that the final deliverable of a software development project meets all of the intended needs of the business.
  • You will need to be able to understand the SDLC models. Specifically what the activities are to manage an application development project / implementation.
  • You will need to be able to deliver a solid set of requirements artefacts, to understand the project standards, translate business needs into technical requirements, to develop and implement solid test plans and test cases / scenarios and what is required to accurately test all aspects of the system and to maintain detailed and accurate documentation per all project standards.
  • You will work with the Director of Business Solutions to build a Product Delivery team of Business Analysts, Project Managers and Technology Adoption Specialists.
  • You will work as an integral part of the wider development team.
Accountabilities
  • Development and management of project plans, define and deliver individual project deliverables as a part of the overall program deliverables, manage the expectations of  stakeholders, manage project relationships, manage project teams in delivering the projects, communicate and manage tasks and activities to a schedule with the team, and provide feedback to team members as appropriate.
  • Effectively manage the project plan, scope / budget / resource management, time management (activities and task planning), communications, risk management, QA and testing, user training, ongoing maintenance and support.
  • Perform requirements gathering and analytical techniques, interview techniques, data gathering techniques, system documentation, business modelling methods, business process, rules and logic, data gathering to solve complex issues, development of implementation plans, development of requirements and key analytical troubleshooting.
  • Develop and implement test plans / scenarios to ensure successful delivery of a project.
  • Lend support to various business and technology teams as necessary during project delivery.
  • Accurately assess the risks associated with each solution design / project.
  • Support the development of team members from a professional and technical level.

Qualifications/Experience
  • Requires a minimum of Batchelor’s Degree in a Computer Science / Software Engineering related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in Agile project management / business analysis within software development projects, or relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the SDLC models / Scrum methodology, IT systems and their direct implementation to projects.
  • Proven project management skills within software development projects.
  • Leadership and management skills in leading technical personnel through the delivery of software development projects.
  • Strong business and systems analysis skills, test planning and testing skills, troubleshooting skills and experience with numerous technical environments and architectures.
  • Ability to apply common, object-oriented modelling techniques, including UML, use case, activity and sequence diagrams.
  • Experience with requirements management, use case and modelling tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership and attention to detail skills through prior experience at the tactical / implementation levels.
