The department

Our team of experienced Real Estate Finance lawyers handle a range of complex real estate finance law matters and advise lenders and borrowers on a range of transactions throughout England and Wales.

The team has detailed knowledge of all sectors of the property finance industry and acts for both lenders and borrowers on security matters affecting commercial, mixed use and residential investment properties.

Led by a Partner, the team currently comprises of 15 people including solicitors, conveyancing executives, paralegals and administrators.

The specialist team advises financial institutions, institutional funds and other types of lenders, as well as developers and investors.

We have the strength and depth of expertise to ensure we deliver top tier service in respect of technical quality, practical approach and timeliness of advice.

You will be given the knowhow, training and resources to develop your skills and experience from within the team and beyond with ongoing technical training as well as programmes dedicated to business development and career progression.

Accountabilities

This opportunity will be working within a team that manages a large case-load of secured lending transactions for both mainstream clearing banks and alternative lenders.

  • Acting for lenders and borrowers in handling purchases and remortgages over commercial, residential and mixed use properties with a service level emphasis;
  • Reviewing titles, property due diligence information and reporting to lenders and borrowers on a wide range of property transaction types and security documentation;
  • Preparation of commercial property transactional documentation such as Transfers, Leases, Deeds, Licences, Contracts and Development agreements;
  • Working in close relationship with our Commercial Property, Residential and Banking & Finance teams in  delivering legal advice to clients;
  • Drafting of bespoke property transactional/security documentation;
  • Providing technical support to the team;
  • Being actively involved with developing and implementing the Real Estate Finance team business development plan;
  • Delivering training to clients and intermediaries;
  • You should also have a strong academic background, a high attention to detail, a flexible approach to work, dedication to client service and an interest in and aptitude for business development.

The candidate

Ideally seeking a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive (FILEX) or Licensed Conveyancer of 1-5 years PQE + with a well developed knowledge in commercial property and residential property.

An interest in developing a specialism in real estate finance.

A strong academic background, a high attention to detail, a flexible approach to work, dedication to client service and an interest in and aptitude for business development.

You will be expected to play an active role in marketing and practice development as well as providing a high level of service to clients and technical expertise.
